OVERVIEW
This aerophone belongs to several North American indigenous cultures. The particular path described by the airflow inside the instrument is the reason for its unmistakable timbre.
Our Native American flutes are made out of bamboo and hardwood. They can be tuned either in a minor pentatonic scale (5 fingerholes) or in a Major diatonic scale (7 fingerholes). Their range is two octaves wide and includes chromatic alterations.

DRONE FLUTE
This instrument consists of two attached NAFs that can be blown in simultaneously. The secondary flute duplicates the root note of the main one, thus enabling the musician to play a melody and a pedal bass at the same time.
MOUTHPIECE
Our single NAFs can have either a tapered mouthpiece or a straight, fully open one. The former is more comfortable, while the latter reduces the back pressure when playing, increases the loudness and clarity of the sound, and facilitates the maintenance of the instrument.
OFFSET FINGER HOLES
The usual design of our NAFs requires placing the left hand above and the right hand below. If you do the opposite, let us know about it so we can make a NAF customized as you need.
